Kabir Sadanand' s Friday release ' Tum Milo Toh Sahi' is all about love. It' s a story of three couples with three different forms of love i.e. meeting of souls (Nana Patekar-Dimple Kapadia), meeting of minds (Suniel Shetty-Vidya Malavade) and meeting of hearts (Rehan Khan-Anjana Sukhani). All the stories run concurrently and merge after the intermission.
' Tum Milo Toh Sahi' holds wonderful performance by the veterans Nana and Dimple. Nana is eccentric in his own way and Dimple shows lots of grace. It' s a delight to your eyes to watch the two actors after a long time, flashing wonderful performances. However, the pairing of (Rehan-Anjana) turns out to be a weak link for the film. Although both the actors have performed well on their part, it doesn' t just seem convincing. Portions of Suniel and Vidya' s sequences are average.
As the film is about meeting of two people in terms of - their souls, minds and hearts - ' Tum Milo Toh Sahi' shouts out the message that its love, which is the major drive in the lives of people. The film is about relationships. It may not be the best film you have seen about relationships, but sure holds many emotional moments (especially sequences between Nana and Dimple) which will touch your heart.
Movie set in the business hub of India, the city of Mumbai, talks about the three couples coping with the demands and pressures of the city. Story of Nana and Dimple stand out of the three with respect to writing and the performances. Suniel and Vidya' s story is also treated sensitively, though it seems very ordinary and common in the beginning. However, Rehan and Anjana' s portions come out as weak in the whole venture, though the actors have performed sincerely. This is how the film goes down on score as it doesn' t keep you hooked as whole.
It' s director Kabir Sadanand' s second directorial venture and sure he has evolved as a good storyteller. He has handled some of the sequences uniquely. Screenplay by Rajen Makhijani and Sameer Siddiqi, as said earlier is not engaging in the all parts. Meanwhile, climax of the film is handled very well. Cinematography by Pushan Kripalani is noticeable. Sandesh Shandilya' s music is alright.
Talking about the performances, Nana and Dimple hold top honors. Suneil enacted his role with maturity and Vidya seems competent. Rehan made a sincere attempt and Anjana was natural too. The child actor who played Dimple' s grandson is commendable.
In all ' Tum Milo Toh Sahi' is a decent film and will mesmerize the audience, specially the Mumbai audience. However, the same thing might not work at other places as it has a Mumbai-centric theme. Fans of Nana and Dimple should sure go for it. Nikhil Panchamiya
