De Dana Dan is a loud film by Priyandarshan, who has brought to you 26 Bollywood comedy actors to make you laugh. But it has instead turned out to be a loud and silly film, where every character is shouting out loud with as much energy as they have. A film set in a Singapore hotel moves forward with mistaken identities.
The film starts with two friends Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty' s tragedy of not being able to marry their girlfriends (Katrina Kaif and Sameera Reddy) because they are poor. To get rid of it, they make a plan which boomerangs. And any thing that can become worse starts happening. Then starts the chase of characters in the film. Don' t try to understand why the whole film is set in a hotel and why the characters are running here and there, because as the name suggests - De Dana Dan, it is bound to be silly.
Among the recent slapstick comedies, De Dana Dan is another rubbish and vanishing act. The second half of the film is comparatively better than the first half. However the craziest part of the second half is when Akshay goes out of sight for 40 minutes, leaving the rest of the cast to carry on the show.
Talking about performances, Akshay has brilliantly enacted the silliness, but we have seen that many times before. Among the others, Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty, Johny Lever, Rajpal Yadav and Neha Dhupia stand out. Music by Pritam is not so exciting this time. Only the Punjabi song ' Paisa Paisa' by RDB catches up. However the background score by Salim-Sulaiman is energetic.
Conclusively, De Dana Dan is a madcap entertainment. Switch off your brain if you want to enjoy it. Ganesh Jain, Girish Jain, Ratan Jain
