Ye Stupid Pyar Review

Clever concept and small budgets films have been doing well this whole year. Ye Stupid Pyar also seems to be such a film but we have been burned before. The film has no star, nor was it promoted in any manner. Therefore, it even might shock some of the readers that a film by this name has been released. With Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl dominating the television and print advertising, Ye Stupid Pyar needs to be really good to get any kind of viewership.

Abhbishek (Jatin Khurana) is a high profile professional working in America. He returns to India for a small stay and falls for the sexy salsa instructor, Neha (Noopur Patwardhan) who works in a gym. After a whirlwind romance, they get married. Neha convinces him to go to Bangkok. Once there, Neha deserts him and runs away with her boyfriend. Abhishek is heartbroken but still wants to look for her. He is helped by his best friends Simran (Akansha Shivhare) and Multiplex (Sahil Vaid). Simran, in fact is in love with Abhishek. Now the search begins.

Having a headache already after reading the plot? Imagine the pain of people who will be unfortunate to see Ye Stupid Pyar. The film is one of the worst films in the year. There are many good writers and filmmakers that do not get a chance to make films but sadly, such films like Ye Stupid Pyar are being made.

The writing is one of the worst in a long time. May be the film did not have a writer and was being randomly made whenever possible. The dialogues are stupid. The plotlines are extremely bad; the worst being Neha getting married just to get to Bangkok and run away with her boyfriend. Couldn' t she have run away with him earlier and saved us the trouble of watching such a painful film. In the credits, there is no one credited for the screenplay. May be they really didn' t have a writer.

The direction is no great shakes either. Rakesh Jain could not make sense out of such a story nor could he get performances out of the statues who are credit as actors in the film. A completely disastrous effort on his behalf.

The acting is one of the worst you will see. Even a blind man can see that Jatin Khurana cannot act to save his life. Noopur Patwardhan is just as bad as him. Akansha tries hard but cannot really do anything with a weak and badly written role. The support cast is irritating, especially the character of Multiplex. Therefore, if you are expecting to see some good performances, then stay away from this film.

The music is horrendous and painful on the ears. The cinematography and editing is okay. There is really nothing they could have done to add something to the film. The production is also poor. Maybe, the producers knew the poor product they had on their hand and did not bother for any promotion.

Ye Stupid Pyar is a complete waste of time and money. The film will not even make it till Monday and will be removed from the screens.

Verdict: Ye Stupid Pyar will make you feel stupid for paying money to watch this film. The film probably will not even have a satellite release.
