First Things First. While going out to watch the new product from the imminent Dharma Productions We Are Family, don' t expect it to be another stepmom in the making please.

Rather be ready to watch the indianised version of the same with some twists that does not appears to be pitted against the best in accordance to the time.

Okay, We Are Family is the remake of Stepmom and carries a huge burden of expectations. So, does it live up to the humongous expectations? Let' s scrutinize!

The mother of the family is diagnosed with an illness and next on the scene emerges a stepmom. Yes, a difficult subject to handle, without battling an eye lid!

It can be lauded as an honest, brave and rather earnest attempt on the part of debutant director, Siddhartha P. Malhotra to cast the choicest actress of recent Kajol & Kareena, respectively. He is able to justice to their roles as far as their screen presence is concerned.

The way he has handled the moments between them is sure to rise up and take notice instantly as the reels unwind as the movie progresses.

Final Word? Welcome back to the family centric genre of movies once again. We Are Family is strictly for the family audiences. It can be watched if you are a big fan of Rajshree Gharana type of flicks.

Let' s scan through the basic story of the movie in the electrifying words of none other than Mr. Taran Adarsh, noted film critic and industry expert with an experience spanning over two decades.

"Maya (Kajol) is the perfect mother. Her life revolves around her three children, Aleya (Aanchal Munjal), Ankush (Nominath Ginsberg) and Anjali (Diya Sonecha). Despite being divorced from her husband Aman (Arjun Rampal), Maya has ensured that everything runs smoothly in her house, under her watch, and that they continue to remain a happy family unit."

"When Aman introduces his girlfriend, Shreya (Kareena Kapoor), a career-oriented woman, the situation takes an unexpected turn. However, Maya is diagnosed with a terminal illness and circumstances bring the two women under the same roof. Can two mothers make a home?"

Hmmm... seems an interesting plot right folks?

Alas, the way the film should have been unfolded on the silver screen the way it was supposed to be accordingly in adherence to its original inspirer, stepmom, it' s a huge let down in the terms of execution.

Talking of the performances, We Are Family gives the two popular actresses an enticing opportunity to sink their teeth into what evokes as roles not like the contemporary stereotypes.

However, amongst the two, Kajol, steals the show and how! She echoes her levels of expressions candidly and same is evident as she speaks million words even when silent.

This is yet another enchanting performance from the actress par excellence. Bravo Kajol!

Ah, Kareena too delivers a decent performance and her sequences with the kids are just perfect celluloid experiences set to be registered in your long-term memory (LTM).

In fact, it' s the right choice to cast Kareena in the role of the stepmom as no one would have been able to match up with Kajol' s level of energy and sheer act as Kareena herself is a thumping performer.

Arjun Rampal is the man clutched between two leading ladies and with industry' s two powerhouses on a roll in the acting departments; it' s a rare to steal some attention amongst between them.

However, Arjun continues to surprise and charm us. Rock On, Housefull, Raajneeti and now We Are Family indicate the growth of this actor.

He handles the sobbing scenes with élan. The kids- all of them are just mesmerizing and their casting is just ripe at the right time and in the right roles.

On the whole, We Are Family brings back the Dharma Production' s main stay, emotional fares. After My Name Is Khan, it' s another earnest attempt made by the camp to zoom back to their basics of doing what they do best.

It' s out and out a family film and if you are a viewer who likes serious handkerchief style of fanfare, We Are Family is for you.

You must have gone across the news in the newspapers that Karan Johar was demanding a commitment from the single screen owners for two weeks to showcase the movie as he was in awe of Dabangg, a hurricane set to storm box-office next week on Eid.

Now it is crystal clear as to why he was demanding such a word of commitment from the cinema owners of single screens as he was somewhere feared of the fact that his movie might get blown away in the next week when Dabangg opens.

Thus, from the box office point of view, the movie does not hold much punch to being in all types of viewers. The only thing the movie can get strong is the strong word of mouth of publicity.

The flick can get a shocker next week as a confident Salman Khan starrer, Dabangg, the same which has created enough hype and buzz amongst all class of viewers, and get doomed out.

Verdict: We Are Family is out and out a serious family affair with a limited reach out!
