Hello Darling Review

Do the promoters of the movie even understand the term Sex Comedy? Apparently Not! Because this movie has been promoted as a sex comedy but far from being that it is barely a comedy. The story of the movie is riddled with crude and crass jokes. It seems the director thinks any nonsense dished out to the audience will be lapped up. Think Again Mr. Tiwary. Let' s dare to go towards the story of the movie.

Hardik (Javed Jaffery) is the head of a Mumbai fashion house and can only view women as pieces of meat; he has three women working under him oops! for him, his personal assistant Candy (Celina Jaitely), corporate Mansi (Gul Panag) and new girl Satvati (Esha Koppikar). The trio is constantly harassed by the sleazy boss. They decide to gang up and teach the boss a lesson and take over the company, and make an example of the boss to all other men out there. Hardik' s wife Purvi (Divya Dutta) is a tool and completely blind to her husband' s antics until one day she receives a complaint from all the maidservants in their area. She decides to teach her husband a lesson by approaching the Pati Sudharak Samiti full of self-styled Phoolan Devis. And as if this nonsense wasn' t enough they even have a romantic story forcibly shoved in where Chunky Pandey plays Candy' s boyfriend who is also a Rock Star.

What follows is utter chaos but not the kind of funny chaos we see in a Priya darshan film. This is literally chaos where we don' t understand what happens and after a while we don' t really care. There are two songs in the film which can be used for a bathroom break during the movie. The film' s plot is lifted from a Hollywood movie called ' Nine to Five' on which already a Marathi and a Tamil film have been made.

The movie wants to deal with the complexities of gender politics in an office but fails miserably. The three victims in the movie who face harassment dress up provocatively throughout the movie. The movie is littered with unoriginal and unfunny gags that barely induce a chuckle.

There is no saving grace for the movie. Performances are not that great. Even a talented comedian like Javed Jaffery cannot do anything with a badly written role. This movie will be a huge setback for him because he is trying to revive his film career. In the ladies department only Gul Panag manages to do something close to acting while the rest are completely forgettable. The rest of the performances are not even worth writing about.

Direction of the movie is completely uninspirational. A very poor debut for Manoj Tiwary. He is unable to make sense of this completely nonsensical script of the movie. As for the script, it is completely lifted with very little original gags. One of the biggest essentials of a comedy movie are its dialogues, here they are the biggest let-down. The Movie is sure to burn a huge hole in the producer' s pocket

Verdict: One can make a better use of his three hours than watch this movie.
