Take this Udaan and Be Enlightened!
Remember Taare Zameen Par, Where the child is scared of sharing his feelings with his strict father. Udaan takes the similar case like this to new level of awakening and how!
Remember our childhood days when we use to wait so candidly for our vacations to roll out but imagine a boy who shivers from the very thought of spending a long vacation in the vicinity of his father as the latter has been always harsh with him. Udaan tracks his story.
Udaan is a movie every father and child must watch to resurrect their bonding. It' s a must watch!
Let' s see how the sequences unfold.
"After being abandoned for eight straight years in boarding school, Rohan [Rajat Barmecha] returns to the small industrial town of Jamshedpur and finds himself closeted with an authoritarian father [Ronit Roy] and a younger half brother who he didn' t even know existed. Forced to work in his father' s steel factory and study engineering against his wishes, he tries to forge his own life out of his given circumstances and pursue his dream of being a writer."
Taran Adarsh was quick to add when asked about the subject line of the movie.
Udaan is a realistic outing to its core and its must be admirable to quote that new film makers are nowadays not worried about following the market norms, and enacting out stories the way they want. The same kind of Midas Touch of Udaan fame can give wings to the dilapidated industry to bail out from its miseries following a string of hyped flops increasing by.
First time director deserves distinction marks for managing a movie of this caliber with élan. Same adoring words can be exclaimed for the very talented writer, Anurag Kashyap for handling out the sensitive matter so lucidly.
It' s time to show some light to some brilliant performances from the leads and others.
The veterans (Ronit Roy & Ram Kapoor) are niche actor, but this film showcases their talents like no other previous flicks of them. Ronit is exceptional as the harsh father. The two kids, Rajat Barmecha & Ayaan Boradia are the real surprise elements of this highly well positioned product. The two are just perfect to be cast in their respective roles. Mind-boggling!
On the whole, Udaan is a simple film that has its heart at the right quotient. In simpler words, it' s a straight film not be talked and discussed about, but to be experienced and cherished. Don' t Miss It!
Rating: ***1/2
Verdict: Udaan is ready to take off in a pulsating obsession.

Almost evry scene is poetry on celluloid. its a simple movie but shows how imp it is to tell a story. Ranjib Mazumder reviewed on 2010-07-16 at 06:52:04ZAfter watching Udaan, I am convinced that Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee are the face of alternate cinema.Little gems they make... The benefit of Udaan is that I will NEVER think of Amit Trivedi as one-movie-wonder now. Whatever he gives. | |||
